Moto E3 Power India to launch in India on Sep 19

Lenovo has started sending media invites for an event on September 19 where the company will launch its next Moto E-series smartphone. The launch date is in line with what Gadgets 360 had reported earlier from IFA 2016, but at that point it was uncertain which variant of the Moto E3 the company would launch in India - or both . It now appears the company is gearing up to launch just the Moto E3 Power in India, and not the Moto E3, based on the invite and social media posts.

The Moto E3 Power comes with a 5-inch HD IPS display with a 720p resolution, and is powered by a 1GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735P processor coupled with 2GB RAM and 16GB of inbuilt memory which is further expandable by up to 128GB via microSD card.

The dualSIM phone runs Android Marshmallow and supports 4G LTE connectivity.

The Moto E3 Power sports an 8-megapixel camera on the rear with LED flash and a 5-megapixel camera on the front. The phone is backed by a 3,500mAh battery and supports fast charging.

Lenovo recently launched the Moto G4 Play in India for Rs 8,999. The Moto E3 Power will likely be priced lower, probably around Rs 7,000. If such be the case, then launching the Moto E3, at an even lower price would make little sense for the company as it would only crowd the market further.

Lenovo announced the original Moto E3 in July and said that the phone will be available globally in stores starting from September. It is backed by a smaller 2,800mAh battery.
