Galaxy Note 7 launch can be viewed in VR by Anyone with a phone & VR headset

Samsung Galaxy Note 7, the company’s Android smartphone geared towards productivity, will launch today. Samsung is holding simultaneous events in New York City, London and Brazil to announce the next Galaxy Note device. Samsung Galaxy Note 7 has been revealed in several leaks already. Now a recent reports suggest Galaxy Note 7 will launch in India on August 11, just a week after global announcement.

With Galaxy Note 7, Samsung is keeping the number scheme around its flagship devices more uniform. Samsung is skipping Note 6 in favour of Note 7, which fits well with the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge series and makes more marketing sense. Samsung Galaxy Note 7 this year promises to put more emphasis on S Pen, and we could also see more utilities for S Pen gestures.
Samsung will also be giving viewers the option of watching the event in VR. This would be a nice change from the run-of-the-mill launch events we’ve seen in the past. The event is scheduled to start on August 2, at 11:00 am EDT, which is 8:30 pm IST.

To watch the event in VR, mobile users and PC users can visit www.samsung.com/galaxy and choose 360 Live Stream. Mobile users can also visit Samsung Mobile on YouTube and choose 360 Live Stream. It should be noted that iOS users can only view the event via YouTube. Those with the Gear VR headset will need to download the Unpacked 360 View app from the Oculus Store.

While launching a phone in VR is pretty cool, Samsung isn’t the first to do so. Last year, OnePlus became the first company to launch the OnePlus 2 in VR by distributing headsets based on Google Cardboard. This year, the company also did something similar with the launch of the OnePlus 3, but this time around it also allowed viewers to purchase the device in VR.
