‘Ghostbusters’ Trailer No. 2:STAY PUFT MARSHMALLOW MAN! SLIMER!

In this version, Slimer has more of a presence with Melissa McCarthy arguing with him, and the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man makes an appearance toward the end (Sony is staying mum, but come on, that’s the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man). In addition, there’s more Chris Hemsworth as the girls’ male assistant. Much like his inseam stole the laughs in Warner Bros.’ Vacation last summer, I’m hearing his ghost-possessed beefcake is a hoot.

“It will haunt you every night," the dapper MADtv alum Michael McDonald says in the intro. "Whatever it is, no one should have to encounter that kind of evil...except you girls. I think you can handle it.” We're with him.

One thing you can’t take way from Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters, which hits theaters July 15, is that the VFX look top notch, which was apparent in the clips Sony showed during their CinemaCon presentation. Village Roadshow is co-producing.

A couple weeks ago, Melissa McCarthy admitted she thought the reboot had been confusingly positioned in the new trailer. "It's a reboot, it's not—I know it's weird that they said the '30 years ago,' because in this movie, like, the first one didn't happen," she said. "It's just...it's that great story but told totally differently."

Ghostbusters hits on July 15. It's directed by Paul Feig (The Heat, Bridesmaids, Freaks and Geeks) and produced by Ivan Reitman, who helmed the original two flicks in 1984 and '89.
