Motorola Moto G (2nd gen) Android Marshmallow 6.0 update rolling out

Android 6.0 Marshmallow has started rolling out for the Moto G (2nd Gen) smartphone in India. The update offers features such as Doze, Google Now on Tap, app permissions and more. The company had kicked off  a small-scale Marshmallow update soak test for users in India and Brazil back on 22 January.

The Moto G (Gen 2) has a 5-inch HD screen, front-facing speakers, microSD card support and 8MP rear camera. It shares features like Android 5.0 (Lollipop), 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB RAM, 2,070mAh battery and connectivity suite with its predecessor. Recently, Motorola also started rolling out Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for its launched Moto G Turbo Edition in India.

If you have not received a notification message for this update, you can follow the steps below to manually update your phone. Select the Settings icon in the apps menu and then select “About phone”. Select “System updates” and then select “Yes, I’m in”. After the software is downloaded, select “Install now”. After the software is installed, your phone will re-start automatically. Your phone will then be updated to Android 6.0.
