FREEDOM 251 SMARTPHONE WORLD'S CHEAPEST SMARTPHONE BENCHMARKS



The Freedom 251 is an Android smartphone marketed as the world's cheapest at the time of its introduction. It was manufactured by Ringing Bells, a company based in Noida, India. The phone costs ₹251 (the equivalent of $3.67 as of 18 February 2016).
The online sales of Freedom 251 started on February 18, 2016. The website crashed after 6 hours of the beginning of the sales,with reported 600,000 clicks per second. The sale is meant to end at 20:00, on the 21st of February 2016,[then the price will be Rs. 500.
Ringing Bells says the Freedom 251 smartphone has been developed ‘with immense support’ from the government and is touting it as a success story of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's flagship ‘Make in India’ scheme. The mobile phone has the Indian National Flagon it's rear side. The phones purchased now will be delivered by the 30th of June 2016.
