FACEBOOK MESSENGER NOW SUPPORTS MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS

Earlier this month, Instagram was updated to include support for multiple accounts on iOS and Android. An update for the Android version of Facebook Messenger has started rolling out, and includes the same feature. By enabling multiple accounts, users don't have to sign off and sign back on when they want to switch accounts. To use the multiple accounts, go to the Settings menu under Accounts.

Though Facebook has been testing multiple account support for Messenger for awhile now, it's finally making the feature official starting today. As of the most recent update, Messenger users on Android can now switch from one account to another using a single device. You can add accounts to Messenger via a new Accounts section in Settings, and you don't need to be on Facebook in order sign in.

Facebook wants families to be able to potentially be able to use Facebook Messenger while sharing the same device. Switching between accounts will require the password of the account you are switching to so there's no need to worry about your housemates seeing your messages from a shared device.
