Emma Watson, who played Hermione in 'Harry Potter', says that she will take a year off from acting.
The actress became a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations in 2014, to promote equality and help improve opportunities for women and girls around the world.
As part of her work for the organisation, she made a speech about how important it is to make boys and girls more equal.
Now, she's hoping that a break from acting will give her more time to focus on that role.
The 25-year-old Harry Potter star sat down with feminist and activist bell hooks, the author of Feminism Is for Everybody, for Paper magazine. In the candid interview she opened up about her plans to step away from the spotlight for a year.
“I’m taking a year away from acting to focus on two things, really,” she told hooks. “My own personal development is one.”
Perhaps unsurprisingly, Watson wants to take some time to further her education in feminism, a topic she’s been extremely vocal about these past few years. The actress even contemplated returning to school.
